How to Get Your Officiant Credentials
In the U.S., individuals who are legally allowed to officiate a wedding ceremony include: members of the clergy like priests, rabbis and ministers or civil appointed officials like Justices of the Peace or Notaries.
For "one-time officiants" like a friend or family member of the couple, we recommend an online ordination like American Marriage Ministries. Free to join and legally accepted in most states, both Kathy & Shelley are AMM ministers and have used their ordination when officiating outside of Connecticut.

Can I still officiate if I don't have or don't want to to get any legal credentials?
Yes! However, the ceremony you conduct will be only symbolic in nature. The couple will need to hire an officiant to sign their marriage license. Both Shelley and Kathy are available for these services as well as many of their officiant colleagues.
They are happy to provide more info upon request.
